Atherton Residence

This home is located on a 2.2-acre estate in Atherton. The program called for a complete renovation of the existing main residence and pool house, which was designed in the 1920s. Several building additions were also included.
The design solution created approximately 12,000 square feet of formal and informal living spaces for a family of five. New guest quarters, au pair apartment, gym and workout areas, and five-car subterranean garage were constructed, along with remodeling of the existing residence. Careful attention was paid to details and materials and the new work remains true to the aesthetic of the original Spanish Colonial residence.
